WWE 2K15: 10 Awesome New Things You Can Do
5. Sting
This is a big one for many WWE fans. Never before have we seen the WCW Icon Sting in a WWE game. Well, in WWE 2K15, that all changes. Not only will you be able to play as Sting, you’ll in fact be able to play as “Two Generations” of Sting. That means both Crow Sting and Surfer Sting.
Such is the gravitas of this first, 2K have ended up basing their whole marketing campaign around the selling point. The fantastic Sting WWE 2K15 vignette caught everyone’s attention, surely sparking a whole load of pre-orders for the game.
It also set in motion the anticipation for Sting’s actual WWE television debut. It seem likely that we’ll see the star in action at WrestleMania 31, all off the back of WWE 2K15
4. New DLC Packs… Including Paige!
One of the things we are looking forward to most is the WWE 2K15 DLC packs. These provide timely new impetus to the game’s appeal and offer up some refreshing new things.
Chief amongst the DLC offerings will be WWE Diva Paige. She’s spent much of 2014 as either champion or challenger, so she’ll be an absolute must for the roster.
2K have announced that you’ll get her by purchasing the $25 WWE 2K15 season pass. It will allow for DLC opportunities and gets you the beautiful Brit wrestler
3. The Gameplay Improvements
WWE 2K15 is going to great lengths to create a gameplay experience that is more befitting of what you see on Raw or Smackdown. There’ll be an innovative chain wrestling aspect to play, where appropriate buttons will contest holds and locks. 2K is calling this a mini-game within the game, an opportunity to literally ‘wrestle’ as opposed to traditional fighting.
There’s also a new three tier stamina meter which will help dictate the pace of a match. That’s a great thing to see, as some past WWE games have been guilty of unrealistic pace.
The submission system is also revamped, as is the finisher process. Finally, characters have more appropriate movesets. No more seeing Rey Mysterio lifting The Big Show!
2. The Best Audio In A WWE Game… Ever!
One thing that nearly all sports genre games are guilty of is bad commentary. To be fair, it’s a hard thing to get right. Only so many lines can be recorded, and tone isn’t always necessarily going to be fitting with on-screen action. That’s resulted in some repetitive and dull commentary in previous WWE games.
WWE 2K15 promises to have remedied these problems. Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler have actually recorded their lines together – which will surely help in the flow of lines!
The pair have put in an impressive 30 hours of new commentary, so hopefully we’ll get less repetitiveness.
It sounds promising (pun intended).
