WWE 2K15 is finally upon us. As with any wrestling game, all the great features you’d expect are right here. You can battle inside a Hell In A Cell, you can create your own wrestler, you can pit legends against current stars. Things like this are industry standards and play a big part in why we love wrestling gaming so much.
But what about the new features?
Here we’ll look at the awesome new things you can do in WWE 2K15. This game is shaping up to be one of the most innovative grappling experiences of all time, 2K have put a great deal of effort into implementing revolutionary ideas. It isn’t just the usual roster update you’ll be buying this game for, there really is so much more!
Unlike WWE 2K14, 2K have had a full year to get to grips with the game. For that reason alone, this should be a much more polished and better thought out production. 2K14 was good, but 2K15 will be great. The game will be available from late October on PS3 and Xbox360 consoles. The next-gen versions will follow in mid November for PS4 and Xbox One gamers. Here’s a little insight into the game to start your excitement!
10. Next-Gen Gaming
The biggest change from WWE 2K14 to WWE 2K15 is the console leap. That’s pretty awesome in itself – a massive evolutionary step for the wrestling genre as we know it.
2K15 is the first ever nex-gen WWE game and will be a major reason for buyers to pick up a new PS4 or Xbox One console. The next generation hardware will allow for both aesthetic and performance improvements, meaning that WWE 2K15 will be the smoothest playing experience you’ll ever have enjoyed with a WWE game.
9. My Career Mode
Sure, there’s been other career modes and storylines to follow in previous WWE games.
However, WWE 2K15 totally reinvents this concept. MyCareer mode is a truly immersive experience for gamers, you’ll create a wrestler and take them all the way from the WWE performance centre to WrestleMania. Decisions will weigh on your characters progression, as will wins and losses.
It all sounds like a lot of fun. This is like a genuine WWE career. From developmental, to NXT, to Raw, to WrestleMania. What a journey this promises to be!
Best of all, 2K have brought the concept over from NBA 2K14. That was a great game and this means the makers have already got a tight handle on what MyCareer needs to be.
8. 2K Showcase Matches
2K Showcase mode promises to be one of the defining aspects of WWE 2K15.
You’ll relive one of WWE’s most epic rivalries, either John Cena Vs CM Punk or Triple H Vs Shawn Michaels. Playing through all the most famous bouts from these legendary WWE feuds, you’ll unlock things like documentary portions and exclusive interviews. Reportedly, these video packages and archival videos are at a near documentary level of detail.
That means you’re going to enjoy this game both as a wrestling fan and a gaming fan.
And yes, Cena Vs Punk at Money In The Bank 2011 is in there!
7. Career Invasion
Seizing upon the popularity of social gaming, WWE 2K15 will introduce career invasion mode.
This will allow gamers to import five of their friends’ created superstars into MyCareer mode. Those wrestlers will then appear at random in your narratives. Sometimes they’ll be helpful, other times they’ll be the bad guys!
That adds a nice touch to 2K15. It gives a reason to share your playing experience and replicates the element of surprise that is so key to WWE television. Imaging battling away and one of your mates’ wrestlers comes running in!
6. The Best Graphics You’ve Ever Seen In A Wrestling Game
Take a look at the WWE 2K15 screenshots. Watch the epic video trailer. Impressed?
You should be.
WWE 2K15 really is the best looking WWE game we’ve ever seen. It isn’t just a leap from WWE 2K14’s graphics, it’s a veritable launch into a new sphere of graphics achievement.
The skin tones and light reflections offer a level of detail that will blow you away. The innovation in graphics detail is courtesy of hard work from the Visual Concepts team, who went to great effort to motion capture the specific movements of WWE superstars. The effort has paid off.
